Word For Today – Renewed
Scripture
So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. 2 Corinthians 4:16 ESV
Devotion – Renewed from the Inside Out
Today I reflect on the word “Renewed” in the context of aging. I give thanks to God, in Jesus’ name, for the daily counsel of the Holy Spirit, recognizing that each new day is a sacred gift. While I acknowledge that aging is a natural part of life, I also embrace the truth that with each passing day, I am being “Renewed” intentionally, spiritually, and graciously by God. To be “Renewed” is not dependent on outward strength but on inward transformation through Jesus Christ and the continual guidance of the Holy Spirit. God’s renewing work reaches beyond what the eye can see. Even when our bodies grow weaker, God is faithfully strengthening our hearts, deepening our faith, and shaping our character into the likeness of Christ. As we choose to spend intentional time in God’s presence through prayer, worship, and the reading of Scripture, we are strengthened, sustained, and filled with hope. God’s grace meets us anew every morning, equipping us for every season of life. Day by day, we are “Renewed” encouraged, and empowered to walk faithfully in God’s purpose. Let us not lose heart. Instead, let us embrace each day with confidence, knowing that the Holy Spirit is continually renewing us from the inside out, preparing us for the work God has entrusted to us and the eternal glory that awaits.
Reflection
Though the body may change, the soul is continually “Rnewed” by God’s power and love. Growing older is not a sign that God has finished with us, it is evidence that God continues to work within us. Every new day offers another opportunity to experience God’s renewing grace. Rather than focusing on what is fading, let us celebrate what the Holy Spirit is continually restoring: our hope, our faith, our joy, and our purpose in Christ.

🌄Spend time in God’s Word and in prayer.
🌄Focus on God’s inward work more than outward circumstances.

🌄Walk confidently, trusting that by God’s grace you are “Renewed” day by day.
Pray
Gracious and Loving God, thank You for the gift of this new day and for Your promise to renew us day by day. In the name of Jesus, help us to focus not on what is temporary, but on the eternal work You are accomplishing within us. Fill us anew with the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. Strengthen us when we grow weary, encourage us when we become discouraged, and remind us that Your grace is sufficient for every season of life. May our lives reflect the hope, peace, and joy that come from walking closely with You. Continue to renew our hearts, transform our minds, and lead us faithfully according to Your will. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
