Word For Today – Press

Scripture
“I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 3:14 ESV

Devotion – Keep Pressing Forward
Today, I reflect on the word “Press.” I am grateful for this new day and for the strength God gives me to “Press” forward with confidence. Whatever stands before us, we can keep moving toward God with determination, living out our faith in the name of Jesus and under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. To Press is to refuse to remain stuck in yesterday while God is calling us forward today. Let us pursue deeper fellowship with God with zeal and persistence, trusting the promise of our upward call in Christ.  “Press” on, one faithful step at a time.

Reflection
What might be keeping me from Pressing forward in my relationship with God? Today, I will remember that spiritual growth is not about reaching the goal in one giant step. It is about faithfully following Jesus one day, one decision, and one step at a time.

Call to Action
🏃🏾‍♀️‍➡️Press into God’s presence through prayer and Scripture.
🏃🏾‍♀️‍➡️Release anything from yesterday that is keeping you from moving forward.
🏃🏾‍♀️‍➡️Listen for the guidance of the Holy Spirit before making decisions today.
🏃🏾‍♀️‍➡️Take one faithful step toward something God has placed on your heart.
🏃🏾‍♀️‍➡️Encourage someone who may be struggling to keep going.
🏃🏾‍♀️‍➡️Keep your eyes on Jesus and Press toward the goal.

Pray
Gracious God, thank You for the gift of this new day. In the name of Jesus, give me strength, courage, and determination to Press forward in faith. When I become discouraged, remind me that You are with me. When yesterday tries to hold me back, help me release it and keep moving toward the future You have prepared. Holy Spirit, guide my thoughts, words, choices, and steps. Deepen my fellowship with You and keep my heart focused on Jesus. May I pursue Your purpose with zeal and persistence, trusting that every faithful step draws me closer to You. Help me Press toward the goal and live today worthy of Your upward call in Christ Jesus. Amen.
