Word For Today – Courage

Scripture
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:9 ESV

Devotion – Courage: Moving Forward with God
Today, I reflect on the word “Courage.” I thank God for the “Courage” and strength that come from trusting in God’s faithful presence. True “Courage” does not mean ignoring danger or pretending we are unafraid. Instead, it means trusting God’s promises even when facing uncertainty. Through Jesus Christ and the daily guidance of the Holy Spirit, we are assured that we never walk alone. Whatever challenges or unknowns this new day may bring, let us move forward with confidence, knowing that God goes before us, walks beside us, and strengthens us along the way.

Reflection
“Courage” is not the absence of fear but the presence of faith in a God who never leaves us. When we trust God’s promises rather than our circumstances, we discover the strength to face life’s uncertainties with confidence and hope.  Ask: What fear or uncertainty am I facing today that requires me to trust God’s presence and move forward with “Courage?”

Call to Action
🌄Trust God’s Presence: Remember that God is with you wherever you go.
🌄Choose Faith Over Fear: Identify one fear and surrender it to God in prayer.
🌄Take a Courageous Step:  Do something you have been hesitant to do.
🌄Encourage Someone: Share Joshua 1:9 with someone who needs “Courage.”
🌄Follow the Holy Spirit: Seek God’ with “Courage” when making decisions.

Pray
Gracious and Faithful God, Thank You for the gift of this new day and for the courage that comes from Your abiding presence. When fear, uncertainty, and life’s challenges threaten to overwhelm me, remind me that I am never alone. Strengthen my faith through Jesus Christ and guide my thoughts, words, and actions through the power of the Holy Spirit.  Lord, help me to walk courageously, not because I know what tomorrow holds, but because I trust You, who holds my future. Replace my fear with faith, my doubts with confidence, and my hesitation with obedience to Your will and ways. May my courage become a testimony of Your faithfulness, encouraging others to trust You in every circumstance. Today, I choose to move forward with courage, knowing You are always with me.  In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
