Song Of The Day
September 21, 2025
Blessed Sabbath Sunday!
Scripture
“For if you truly amend your ways and your deeds, if you truly execute justice one with another, if you do not oppress the sojourner, the fatherless, or the widow, or shed innocent blood in this place, and if you do not go after other gods to your own harm, then I will let you dwell in this place, in the land that I gave of old to your fathers forever.” Jeremiah 7:5-7 ESV
Devotion
Today I reflect on the power of our worship and how worship calls us to action in Jesus’ name. Worship is not only about songs and prayers but also about how we live, committing our actions toward one another through advocating for the least, the less, the last, and the lost. As we gather today in individual and community worship, let us prepare our hearts so that this Sabbath moves us into a new week of justice, fairness, and compassion in all our dealings. May our worship inspire us to deal justly with one another and ensure fairness for all people. Will you join me in making today’s worship way of life that transforms our actions, communities, and world?
Reflection
Worship transforms lives when it inspires action rooted in God’s justice and compassion. The scripture from Jeremiah reminds believers that amending our ways, seeking justice, and advocating for those in need is inseparable from genuine worship. As this Sabbath unfolds, consider how worship can become an everyday way of life, shaping attitudes, behaviors, and relationships with fairness and mercy at the center.
Call to Action
☀️Pray and ask God to reveal whom to advocate for, the least, the less, the last, and the lost.
☀️Seek opportunities to treat others fairly and justly today and in the week ahead.
☀️Commit to making worship not only a Sunday routine but a daily practice reflected in words and deeds.
☀️Encourage others to join in living out justice and compassion in their communities.
Pray
God of justice and mercy, thank you for calling us into true worship that changes hearts and transforms lives. As we gather today, help us amend our ways, seek justice, and care for the vulnerable. Guide us with compassion in all our dealings this week, so our worship becomes a daily witness to your love. May our actions honor you and heal our communities. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
