Lord, Increase My Faith

Scripture
“The apostles said to the Lord, ‘Increase our faith!’ And the Lord said, ‘If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, “Be uprooted and planted in the sea,” and it would obey you.’” Luke 17:5–6 ESV

Devotion
Today’s focus is gratitude for a God who comes through, no matter the circumstance, and who grows our faith even on the hardest days. When anxiety rises or sorrow feels heavy, God is strengthening us, preparing us for what is ahead, and reminding us that we are never alone, because the Holy Spirit walks with us daily as our Guide and ComforterFaith is not the absence of hard days; faith is trusting that God is present, working, and sustaining you in the midst of them. Even when you feel weak, God is quietly increasing your faith, strengthening your heart, and preparing you for great things yet to come, just as Jesus taught that even mustard seed faith can move what seems deeply rooted and immovable.

Reflection
Anxiety and sorrow do not disqualify you from God’s presence; they become invitations to pray, “Lord, increase my faith today. Strengthen me for what is ahead. Walk with me, guide me, and remind me that I am never alone.” The Holy Spirit faithfully comes alongside you, turning your honest prayers into growing trust and quiet courage for the journey ahead.

Pray
Lord, today, increase my faith. You see every anxious thought, every hidden sorrow, and every question about what comes next. Strengthen me for what lies ahead, and remind me that even mustard seed faith, placed in You, is powerful. Walk with me, Holy Spirit; guide my steps, steady my heart, and help me to trust that I am never alone. Thank You that You always come through, in Your way and in Your time. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
