Loved First: Choosing Forgiveness
Scripture
“For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly… but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:6–8 ESV
Devotion
Advent Blessings and LOVE. Today I am humbled by the truth that God loved me before I ever learned to LOVE God. God demonstrated immense, undeserved LOVE through the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. God’s LOVE is rooted in grace, freely given and never earned—offering us a secure foundation of HOPE, PEACE, JOY, and LOVE.
Reflection
God’s never-ending, overwhelming LOVE goes to extreme lengths to lift us from worldly brokenness and lead us into becoming our good, better, and best selves. Even when we turn away or fall short, God’s LOVE remains faithful. Thank You, God, for forgiveness, for Jesus, and for the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Pause and thank God for loving you first. Sit with the truth that Christ’s love met you at your weakest moment and did not turn away. Ask yourself: How does knowing I am already loved change the way I forgive, serve, and live today?
