Rooted and Grounded in Advent LOVE
Scripture
“So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”
Ephesians 3:17–19 ESV
Devotion
On this last Sunday of the 2025 Advent season, as I prepare to worship in community, I am awed and humbled by how deeply God loves me. I am strengthened by the knowledge of the indwelling love of God through Jesus Christ our Lord and the gifting of the Holy Spirit. God’s love is so deep, so vast, and so complete that it stretches beyond human understanding, filling us with the very fullness of God.
Reflection
My prayer today is that all humanity may know the HOPE, PEACE, JOY, and LOVE of Advent, not as mere concepts, but as a lived, spiritual reality. May this understanding move us beyond knowledge into faithful action: acts of mercy and justice that help create a world reflecting the image of God’s love. In Jesus’ name, may Christ dwell richly in our hearts, anchoring us in love that transforms us and the world around us.
Where have you experienced the immeasurable love of God this Advent season?
How is Christ inviting you to move from knowing God’s love to living it out through mercy and justice?

Loving God, on this final Sunday of Advent, I thank You for Your immeasurable love revealed through Jesus Christ. Root and ground my heart in Your love, that I may comprehend its vastness and live filled with Your fullness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
