Emmanuel: God With Us

Scripture
“She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet:
“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us).  Matthew 1:21–23 ESV.

Devotion
Today I celebrate Jesus as the fulfillment of the promise Emmanuel—God with us. God chose not to remain distant, but to dwell among humanity, entering our world with compassion, humility, and redeeming love. In Jesus, God offers comfort, peace, and salvation, especially in the midst of difficult and uncertain times. Through Christ and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, God is present, near, and intimately involved in every detail of our lives..

Reflection
Jesus came at the perfect time to redeem us and restore our relationship with God. As we draw near to Christmas, we are reminded that we never walk alone. Emmanuel assures us that God is with us always, strengthening us when we are weary, sustaining us when we feel weak, and walking beside us through every season of lifeWhere do you most need the reassurance of God’s presence today? How does knowing that Emmanuel, God with us, change the way you face this season?
