Word For Today – Anchor
Scripture:
“We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain.” Hebrews 6:19 ESV
Title of Devotion – Anchored in Christ
Today I give thanks, reflect, and proclaim that God is my “Anchor” in Jesus’ name. Christ is my “Anchor,” my assurance and steadfast source of spiritual stability, security, and peace at all times. Christ as my “Anchor” connects me to God’s promises through Jesus, who serves as my Savior, Redeemer, and High Priest in my life. When our “Anchor” is God, our trust shifts from temporary things to the unchanging nature of God. God as our “Anchor” in Christ allows us to find comfort during difficult times, keeping our faith steady when facing challenges and giving us confidence to persevere. When life’s waves rise, we are not drifting, we are anchored.
Reflection:
During this Lenten season, let us fix our perspective on Christ’s work in us and through us rather than on emotional or physical circumstances.What have I been holding onto that is temporary instead of anchoring my life fully in Christ? How can I intentionally fix my focus on God’s promises today?
Call to Action
⚓Declare today: “God is my Anchor” in moments of uncertainty.
⚓Spend time in prayer, grounding yourself in God’s presence.
⚓Reflect on God’s promises rather than current circumstances.
⚓Release worry and choose trust in Christ’s stability
⚓Encourage someone else who may feel unsteady in their faith
Pray
Creator God, Thank You for being my Anchor, steady, secure, and unchanging. In Jesus’ name, I trust You to hold me firm when life feels uncertain. Help me to release my fears and place my full confidence in Your promises. Strengthen my faith so that I remain grounded in Your truth and not swayed by circumstances. During this Lenten season, draw me closer to You and anchor my soul deeply in Your love and grace.
