Devotion – Hosanna: A Cry and a Celebration
Today is Palm Sunday, a day of reflection and praise centered on the word “Hosanna.” On this day, we remember Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem, the moment that fulfilled prophecy and revealed Jesus as the promised Savior. The word “Hosanna” is both a cry and a declaration, meaning “Save now” or “Save us, we pray.” It is a heartfelt plea for deliverance, and at the same time, a celebration of the salvation Christ came to bring.Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week, the sacred journey that leads us through Jesus’ crucifixion on Good Friday and His glorious resurrection on Easter Sunday. As we enter this holy season, we are invited to reflect deeply on the sacrifice, love, and victory found in Jesus Christ.
Reflection
Let us open our hearts to welcome Jesus as our Savior and Redeemer. May our cry of “Hosanna” not only rise from our lips but also be reflected in our daily lives—through our worship, our obedience, and our trust in God. As we walk through this week, may we remember that the same Jesus who entered Jerusalem in humility also reigns in victory and power. What does “Hosanna” mean in my life today? Is it only a word I sing, or is it a sincere cry for Jesus to save, lead, and transform me? How can I welcome Jesus more fully into my heart during this Holy Week?

Prayer
Heavenly Father, Creator God, I come to You today with a heart that cries, “Hosanna, save me now.” I thank You for sending Jesus Christ, my Savior and Redeemer, who came in humility and love to bring salvation to the world. As I enter this Holy Week, help me to reflect deeply on Your sacrifice and to walk closely with You. Teach me to not only say “Hosanna” with my lips but to live it through my faith, trust, and obedience. Fill me with gratitude, reverence, and joy as I remember all that Jesus has done. Guide me by Your Holy Spirit to honor You in all I do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
