Holy Monday – Word for Today – Will

Scripture
“Not my will, but yours, be done.” — Luke 22:42 (ESV)
Devotion – God’s Perfect Will
Today, I begin Holy Week with the reflecting on God’s “Will.” As I reflect on Jesus’ journey toward the cross, I am reminded of His complete submission to God’s “Will.” Even in the face of suffering, Jesus chose obedience over comfort. Surrender is not weakness; it is strength rooted in trust. It is releasing control and allowing God to lead every area of my life. During this sacred week, I intentionally lay down my plans, fears, and expectations, trusting that God’s will is good, pleasing, and perfect. In Jesus’ name, I choose to walk in surrender, knowing that God’s purpose will always lead to life and transformation.
Reflection
Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, may we find the strength to trust, follow, and walk faithfully in the teachings of ChristWhat am I holding onto that God is asking me to surrender?
Call to Action

🦋Choose obedience to God’s “Will” over control today.
Pray
Almighty God as I remember Jesus who entered the Jerusalem Temple to cleanse it of corruption and abuse. I set aside this Holy Monday to search for what needs to be surrendered to your will in my own life. Please examine my heart, test me, and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in my life that is hindering my deep relationship with you. Help me prepare my heart for the journey to the cross this week. I surrender my will to You. Help me trust Your plans above my own. Strengthen me to walk in obedience, even when it is difficult. Lead me in Your truth and align my heart with Yours. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
