Word for Today – Quietness
 April 6, 2026

Scripture:
“For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, ‘In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.’ But you were unwilling.”
Isaiah 30:15

Devotion – The Still Strength of Quietness
Today, I reflect on the spiritual meaning of “Quietness.” In this season following Easter and Resurrection Sunday, I am reminded of the peace that comes with practicing “Quietness” and resting in the presence of God. I choose “Quietness” a stillness of heart that allows me to sense God’s nearness and listen for God’s voice.  True peace, strength, confidence, and power are found when we rest in God. It is in “Quietness”  tthat our restless thoughts settle, our hearts align with God’s will, and our faith deepens. May we continually return to God’s presence in “Quietness” and in trust, relying on the Holy Spirit to calm our souls and renew our faith.

Reflection
Let today be filled with faith-led action, grounded not in personal plans but in trust in God’s promises.  When was the last time I chose to be still before God—not to speak, request, or plan, but simply to rest and listen? Quietness is not inactivity; it is a posture of trust. It invites us to release control and draw strength from the One who never fails.

Call to Action
🕊️Take 10 minutes today to sit quietly before God, no phone, no noise.
🕊️Reflect on one area of life that needs less striving and more surrender.
🕊️Speak a simple prayer of trust: “Lord, I rest in You.”

Pray
Gracieous God, thank You for the gift of quietness. Teach me to find You in still moments and to draw strength through trust. Calm my heart when life feels loud and uncertain. Let Your peace rule my spirit, and help me rest in the assurance of Your promises. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
