“But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.”

Devotion – Covered and Protected by God
Today, I reflect on God as my Shield. With gratitude and confidence, I declare that God is my Shield and protector in this new day. I honor God, in Jesus’ name, as my Shield and Defender—the source of my values and the sustainer who restores my hope when I am discouraged. God surrounds me with divine protection, guarding my heart, mind, and spirit. When challenges arise or uncertainty tries to overwhelm me, I am reminded that I am not exposed or alone. God stands between me and every threat, seen and unseen. May God be our Shield, the One who lifts our heads and raises our chins when weariness sets in. In moments when life feels heavy, God’s presence becomes our covering and our strength. Through the Holy Spirit, we are guided, strengthened, and empowered to stand firm in faith today.
Reflection
Through the Holy Spirit, we are guided, strengthened, and empowered to stand firm in faith today. What would shift in your mindset today if you truly believed that God is your Shield? Consider the areas where you feel vulnerable or discouraged. Invite God into those spaces and allow Him to cover you with His peace, protection, and strength. When you feel weighed down, remember that God is not only protecting you—He is also lifting you up.

Prayer
Gracious and loving God, I thank You for being my Shield and my Defender. You are my covering in every season, my strength when I feel weak, and the One who lifts my head when I am discouraged. Today, I place my trust fully in You. Surround me with Your protection and guide my thoughts, words, and actions by Your Holy Spirit. Help me to walk in confidence, knowing that I am covered by Your grace and sustained by Your love. Lord, remind me that I am never alone, and that You are always with me—protecting, restoring, and uplifting me. Use me as a vessel to encourage others to trust in You as their Shield. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
