 Word For Today – Revive

Scripture
“For thus says the One who is high and lifted up, who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: ‘I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the contrite.’”
Isaiah 57:15 ESV

Devotion – Revived by God’s Presence
Today, I reflect on the spiritual meaning of “Revive.” I give thanks to God, who is high and lifted up, yet chooses to “Revive” my spirit each day, because God cares. I stand in humble awe that, through Jesus, God would renew my heart and draw me closer into God’s Holy presence. As this new day begins, let us open ourselves to the God who is both exalted above all and near to us. God is not distant or detached, but intimately present, restoring what feels weary, renewing what feels empty, and breathing life into what feels dry. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, God meets us right where we are, lifting our spirits and renewing our strength.

Reflection
May God “Revive” us—body, mind, and spirit—so that we can confidently follow the promptings of the Holy Spirit and live as faithful witnesses in all we do. Revive us again, Lord.  Where in your life do you need God’s reviving touch today?
Have you made space for God to renew your spirit and restore your joy?

Call to Action
🌅Begin
with a prayer asking God to revive your spirit.
🌅Release anything weighing you down and invite God’s renewal.
🌅Spend quiet time in God’s presence, listening for the Holy Spirit.
🌅Encourage someone today with words that bring life and hope.
🌅Walk in confidence, knowing God will “Revive” and strengthening you.

Pray
Gracious and Holy God, I thank You for being both high and lifted up, yet close enough to revive my spirit. Renew my heart today, Lord, and restore my strength where I feel weary. Help me to walk humbly before You, open to Your presence and led by Your Spirit. Revive every part of me, body, mind, and soul—so that I may live faithfully and reflect Your love in all I do. Revive me again, Revive us again, Lord, and use this life as a witness of Your renewing power. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
