 Word For Today – Sent

Scripture
Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.”  John 20:21 ESV

 Devotion – Sent with Purpose and Peace

Devotion
Peace be with you. Today I reflect on what it means to be “Sent.” As I prepare to worship in community and receive Holy Communion, I give thanks to God for this new day and for the opportunity to be sent forth to continue God’s work in Jesus’ name. I am reminded that as part of God’s Church, I am called to be “Sent” into mission and service, empowered by the Holy Spirit. I thank God for this calling, to be “Sent” as one equipped by the Spirit for the spiritual tasks before me today. I move forward with confidence, knowing I am not alone; God is with me.  Let each of us step into this day with assurance that God is present with us. We are “Sent” and empowered by the Spirit into the world as witnesses of Christ’s resurrection and as messengers of God’s peace, living out our call through mission and service as taught by Christ.

Reflection
What a powerful reminder that being “Sent” is not about striving in our own strength, but about walking in obedience, covered in God’s peace, and guided by the Holy Spirit.  Where is God sending you today? Consider how you can carry God’s peace into every space you enter. Being “Sent” is both a calling and a privilege—an opportunity to reflect Christ in your words, actions, and presence.

Call to Action
🕊️Pray and ask God to reveal where you are being “Sent” today.
🕊️Walk in confidence, knowing the Holy Spirit equips you for every assignment.
🕊️Share God’s peace with someone through a kind word or act of service.
🕊️Be intentional about living as a witness of Christ’s love and resurrection.
🕊️Step boldly into your calling, trusting God’s presence goes before you.

Pray
Gracious God,
Thank You for the gift of this new day and for calling me to be “Sent” in Jesus’ name. Fill me with Your peace and empower me through the Holy Spirit to walk boldly in mission and service. Guide my steps, my words, and my actions, so that I may reflect Your love to all I encounter. Help me to trust that I am never alone, for You are always with me. Use me, Lord, as a vessel of Your peace and a witness of Christ’s resurrection. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
