Word For Today – Confidence
Scripture:
“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”Hebrews 4:16 ESV
Devotion – Drawing Near with Confidence
As I worship in community today today, I pause to reflect on the word “Confidence.” I thank God for the gift of a new day and for the privilege of approaching God freely with confidence. Because of what Jesus has accomplished on the cross, I can worship without fear, guilt, or hesitation. In Christ, I am invited to come boldly before God’s throne, not because of my own worthiness, but because of the finished work of Jesus Christ.Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, I become increasingly aware of God’s unmerited grace and favor. In God’s presence, I receive mercy for my failures, hope for my future, strength for today’s journey, and the assurance of God’s steadfast love. This “Confidence” is not rooted in self-confidence or human ability. It is Spirit-filled and Christ-centered, flowing from a relationship with the One who has already made a way for us. As we gather with God’s people in worship today, let us come with expectant hearts, trusting that God desires to meet us exactly where we are. Whether we come carrying burdens, celebrating victories, seeking direction, or simply longing to be in God’s presence, we can approach the throne of grace with confidence, knowing that God welcomes us with open arms. May our “Confidence” in Christ overflow into every conversation, every decision, and every act of kindness, reflecting God’s love and faithfulness to the world around us.
Reflection
Today, let us choose to draw near to God with confident assurance, trusting that God will provide everything we need.Where have I been hesitant to approach God? Today, I will remember that through Jesus Christ I have full access to God’s throne of grace. My confidence rests not in myself but in God’s faithful promises. As I worship today, I will draw near with gratitude, expectancy, and trust, knowing that God’s mercy and grace are always sufficient.

Pray
Gracious and Loving God, Thank You for inviting me to come boldly before Your throne of grace. Because of Jesus Christ, I do not have to approach You in fear or shame, but with confidence, knowing that I am welcomed by Your unfailing love. Fill me with the power and presence of the Holy Spirit so that my confidence is rooted in You alone and not in my own strength.As I gather in worship today, renew my heart, strengthen my faith, and remind me of Your abundant mercy and amazing grace. Help me to trust You in every circumstance and to reflect Your love in every conversation and encounter. May my life point others toward the hope that is found in Jesus Christ alone. In the powerful and precious name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
