Scripture
“For you, O Lord, have made me glad by your work; at the works of your hands I sing for joy.” Psalm 92:4 ESV
Devortion – A Heart Made Glad by God’s Goodness
Today I reflect on the spiritual meaning of the word “Glad.” I am “Glad” for God’s active and faithful presence, which fills my heart with joy as I embrace this new day, honoring Jesus Christ and seeking the daily guidance of the Holy Spirit. True gladness is more than a passing emotion, it is the deep, abiding joy that comes from recognizing God’s hand at work in our lives. The psalmist reminds us that our gladness is rooted in God’s works. Every sunrise, every answered prayer, every moment of grace, every opportunity to love, serve, forgive, and grow is evidence of God’s faithfulness. Even when circumstances are difficult, we can be “Glad” because God’s presence remains constant and God’s promises never fail. Today, let us intentionally pause to acknowledge the works of God. Rather than focusing on what is missing or uncertain, let us celebrate what God is doing. As we fix our hearts on God’s goodness and the divine possibilities before us, the Holy Spirit fills us with joy, gratitude, hope, and renewed strength for the journey ahead. May our gladness become a witness to others, reflecting the peace, confidence, and joy that come from walking faithfully with Christ.
Reflection
Take a moment to consider the works of God’s hands in your own life, the answered prayers, the quiet provisions, the moments of grace you may have overlooked. Gladness is not simply a feeling that happens to us; it is a response we choose when we fix our eyes on what God has done and is doing. How might your day change if you approached it with intentional gladness, seeking to notice God’s work in every hour? What work of God in your life brings you the greatest joy today? How can your gladness become a testimony that encourages someone else to trust in God’s goodness?

Gracious and loving God, thank You for filling my heart with gladness through Your faithful works. In the name of Jesus Christ, I praise You for Your goodness, mercy, and constant presence in my life. Holy Spirit, guide my thoughts, words, and actions today so that I may reflect the joy that comes from knowing You. Help me to recognize Your blessings, celebrate Your faithfulness, and encourage others through a grateful heart. May my life become a song of praise that honors You in all I do. I rejoice in Your goodness today and always. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
