Title of The Word For Today – Trust

Scripture
In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?  Psalm 56:4 ESV

Devotion – Trust God and Do Not Be Afraid
Today, I reflect on the word **“Trust. I declare that I “Trust” in the promises of God. God’s promises quiet my human fears because God’s divine power, provision, and protection are unlimited.  “Trust” does not mean that we will always know what is coming next. Trust does not require us to understand every circumstance or have every question answered. Instead, “Trust” is the decision to believe that God is faithful even when the way ahead is uncertain.  The psalmist declares, “In God I trust; I shall not be afraid.” This is more than an expression of confidence; it is a declaration of faith.  Fear may knock at the door, uncertainty may enter our thoughts, and circumstances may challenge our confidence, but we can still choose to “Trust.” Our confidence is not based on what we can see but on the character of the God we know. Rather than allowing fear to determine how we approach what lies ahead, may we “Trust” the positive possibilities before us and follow the direction of the Holy Spirit.  When we “Trust” God, we do not have to be controlled by the fear of what might happen. We can praise God for what God has already done and move forward believing that the same God who sustained us yesterday is present with us today and is already ahead of us in tomorrow.

Reflection
Take a moment to remember a time when God was faithful to you before. Let yesterday’s testimony strengthen today’s “Trust.” Then ask the Holy Spirit to help you walk into this new day with confidence, praise, and expectation.  What fear, uncertainty, or concern do I need to surrender to God today so that I can fully “Trust” God’s promises?

Pray
Gracious and Faithful God, Thank You for the gift of this new day. Today, in the name of Jesus, I declare that I “Trust” You. I trust Your Word, Your promises, Your power, Your provision, Your protection, and Your perfect love. When fear tries to overwhelm me, remind me that You are greater than anything I will face. When uncertainty causes me to question what comes next, help me remember Your faithfulness. When I cannot see the entire path before me, give me enough faith to take the next step.  Holy Spirit, guide my thoughts, direct my decisions, order my steps, and help me recognize the positive possibilities God has placed before me. Replace my worry with worship, my anxiety with assurance, my hesitation with hope, and my fear with faith. Lord, I praise Your Word and stand upon Your promises. I refuse to allow fear to have the final word over my life.  Today, I will “Trust.”  Today, I will praise. Today, I will follow the Holy Spirit.  Today, I will not be afraid.  For “In God I trust; I shall not be afraid.”  In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, I pray.  Amen.
