Word For Today – Beloved
Scripture
“Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ and brother of James, to those who are called, beloved in God the Father and kept for Jesus Christ.” Jude 1:1 ESV
Devotion – Beloved and Kept by Christ
Today, I reflect on the word “Beloved.” I thank God that I am called God’s Beloved, saved through Jesus Christ and guided daily by the Holy Spirit to serve, encourage, and strengthen others as God leads. What a powerful truth to carry into this new day: we are God’s Beloved. Jude reminds us that we are called, loved by God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ. Our identity is not determined by circumstances, accomplishments, failures, or the opinions of others. Our identity is rooted in God’s steadfast love. As God’s “Beloved” we are called and sanctified, continually covered by God’s grace and cleansing power. We are empowered by the Holy Spirit to live according to God’s will and God’s ways. Walk confidently, humbly, and gratefully today. You are called. You are loved. You are kept. You are God’s “Beloved.”
Reflection
When spiritual pressures and distractions attempt to pull us away from God’s purpose, Christ holds us securely in His care. We do not walk through this day alone or unprotected. How would your attitude, choices, and interactions with others change today if you continually remembered, “I am God’s Beloved, and I am kept by Christ”?
Call to Action
💖Receive God’s love instead of seeking your worth from the approval of others.
💖Remember throughout the day: I am called, Beloved, and kept by Christ.
💖Resist distractions that attempt to pull you away from God’s purpose.
💖Rely on the Holy Spirit to guide your words, decisions, and actions.
💖Reflect God’s love by encouraging someone who needs to know they are “Beloved.”
Pray
Gracious and loving God, thank You for this new day and for calling me Your Beloved. Thank You for saving me through Jesus Christ and keeping me securely in Your loving care. When pressures, distractions, or uncertainty surround me, remind me that my identity is rooted in You. Holy Spirit, guide my thoughts, words, decisions, and actions so that I may live according to Your will and Your ways. Help me walk with confidence without pride, humility without fear, and gratitude in every circumstance. May the love I receive from You overflow through me so that I encourage, serve, and strengthen others today. Thank You that I am called, loved, sanctified, and kept for Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
