Word For Today – Courageous
Scripture
“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6 ESV
Devotion – Courageous Because God Goes With Me
Today, I choose to be strong and “Courageous.” Thank God that, in Jesus’ name, we can be “Courageous” and face this new day knowing we are covered by God’s presence, guided by the Holy Spirit. To be “Courageous” does not come from our own strength or power; it grows from knowing that God personally walks with us. Fear and anxiety may try to overwhelm us, but they do not have the final word. We can release our fears, move forward in faith, and rest in God’s promise: God will never leave us or forsake us.
Reflection
Where is God calling me to be “Courageous” today? What fear, anxiety, or uncertainty do I need to release so I can move forward trusting that God is with me?
Call to Action
🙏🏽Choose courage: Begin today declaring, “God is with me; I will not be afraid.”
🙏🏽Release fear: Give your worries and anxieties to God through prayer.
🙏🏽Follow the Spirit: Listen for the Holy Spirit’s guidance before making decisions.
🙏🏽Be “Courageous”: Move forward in one area where fear is holding you back.
🙏🏽Encourage someone: Remind someone that God will never leave or forsake them.
Pray
Gracious God, thank You for the gift of this new day. In Jesus’ name, help me to be strong and “Courageous.” When fear, anxiety, or uncertainty enters my heart, remind me that I am not walking alone. You are with me, You cover me with Your presence, and You will never leave or forsake me. Holy Spirit, guide my thoughts, words, decisions, and actions. Give me courage to release what I cannot control and faith to follow wherever You lead. Help me take the next faithful step with confidence, knowing that my strength comes from You. May my courage encourage someone else to trust You today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
