Word For Today – Upholds

Scripture
“The Lord upholds all who are falling and raises up all who are bowed down.”
Psalm 145:14 ESV

Devotion – Held in God’s Loving Hands
Today, I reflect on the word “Upholds.” I thank God who actively supports, sustains, and comforts us when life feels overwhelming. Through Jesus Christ and the daily presence of the Holy Spirit, God draws near with compassion, strength, and peace.  God “Upholds” us with supreme power joined with tender mercy. God lifts those who are bowed down, strengthens the weak, and brings help to the hurting and needy. No burden is too great for God’s loving hands, and no heart is too broken for God’s comfort. Today, rest in the assurance that God upholds you.

Reflection
What burden do I need to release today and trust God to uphold me through?

Call to Action
🌄Trust God with the burden that feels too heavy to carry alone.
🌄Release your worries through prayer and receive God’s sustaining peace.
🌄Encourage someone who may feel weak, discouraged, or bowed down.
🌄Remember throughout the day: God upholds me.

Pray
Gracious God, thank You for this new day and for Your promise to uphold me. When I feel weak, weary, overwhelmed, or bowed down, remind me that I do not stand in my own strength. Thank You for drawing near with compassion and holding me securely in Your loving hands. In the name of Jesus Christ, help me release every burden I was never meant to carry alone. Holy Spirit, guide my thoughts, strengthen my heart, and fill me with Your peace. Help me also notice those around me who need encouragement, compassion, and support. May I experience the joy of the Lord and the assurance of Your sustaining presence throughout this day. Uphold me, Lord, and help me trust You completely. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
